I started working in the rubber industry when ARLANXEO was formed – a great opportunity to get to know new markets, customers and products! I studied business management and marketing, and launched my career as a Project Manager for a global supplier to the energy industry. In 2011, I moved into sales as Senior Sales Manager for Specialty Chemicals at LANXESS in Pittsburgh.

My job offers a good mix of client appointments and office time. My home base is in our Pittsburgh headquarters- we have a very close knit culture and I like that our size allows us to interact with each other on a daily basis. I meet often with my colleagues, both in the office and at our North American sites (Orange, Texas, USA and Sarnia and London, Ontario, Canada) to discuss customer forecasts, technical developments, production plans and required quantities to meet customer needs.

I serve over a dozen companies across North America and travel over 50,000 miles (80,500 kilometers) per year, mostly by car and plane. It’s always a great opportunity to meet different people and learn more about their business – not only in the tire industry, but also in other sectors that TSR serves.

ARLANXEO is a global market leader – we often negotiate on an international level, and many of my clients are active worldwide. At the same time, ARLANXEO is building its own identity. I find that very exciting: moving away from what we have always done and creating something new, our own.

At ARLANXEO, we have a lot of experience and expertise in all areas of the company. As a newcomer, I would suggest that you learn all you can from your colleagues- not just those in your own group or business unit. There is a lot of knowledge to be learned and shared. To this day, I am still applying this practice and learning from those around me.

I love to travel – one of my favorite places to relax is the beach. I like to spend my free time with family and friends. I also enjoy playing golf – the best golf balls contain special butadiene rubbers that we produce at our plant in Orange, Texas.
