Buna® FX 3234A-2 is a functionalised solution Styrene-Butadiene Rubber containing 34% of bounded styrene. The extension with 37,5 phr. TDAE extender oil allows for high molecular weights in the rubber increasing the treadwear resistance combined with easy processing. On the other hand, the slightly reduced viscosity allows easier processing. Buna® FX 3234A-2 is functionalized with polar end-groups to increase the interaction with silica fillers. This reduces the hysteresis inside the tread compound, thus reducing the rolling resistance of the tire. Typical applications are high performance tire treads. Important tire properties like grip and rolling resistance is enhanced. The high styrene content imparts a high level of dynamic stiffness making the grade especially suitable for high performance summer tires.
